A strike group of the U.S. Navy led by the aircraft carrier Gerald Ford has arrived off the coast of Venezuela. This was reported by Reuters, citing American officials. The order to deploy the carrier group in the Caribbean Sea was given by U.S. President Donald Trump last month. It is noted that by the time Gerald Ford arrived, eight military ships, a nuclear submarine, and F-35 aircraft were already stationed in the region. American officials did not specify the location of the aircraft carrier, only stating that the group it leads has moved into the area of responsibility of U.S. Southern Command for Latin America. Earlier, The New York Times reported that the Trump administration is considering three possible scenarios for a military operation against Venezuela. It is clarified that Washington aims to achieve the removal of the country's president, Nicolás Maduro.
