The incident occurred around 4 PM on Saturday at Kittilä Airport, near the popular ski resort of Levi in Lapland, according to the region's rescue service. Due to strong gusts of wind, a large aircraft with about 150 passengers and a smaller one with fewer than 10 people slid off the runway into snowdrifts. There was no collision between them. Numerous rescue service vehicles arrived at the scene. It is still unknown if any passengers were injured.
