The XX International Sand Sculpture Festival Will Take Place in Jelgava

## International Composition and Scale The festival will feature 15 professional sculptors from ten countries. Among them are masters from Turkey, the USA, Ukraine, Spain, Bulgaria, Poland, the Netherlands, Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia. The artists will create large-scale sand compositions inspired by the prehistoric era. In their works, they will interpret themes of the power of nature, the evolution of life, and the harmony between natural elements. ## Dinosaurs and the "Revived" Jurassic Period The main concept of the festival will focus on the world of dinosaurs and the ancient history of the Earth. Visitors will be able to see how sand transforms into large sculptures reflecting the Jurassic period — from giant prehistoric creatures to artistic representations related to the development of life on the planet. This theme not only allows for the creation of spectacular objects but also gives the festival an educational and symbolic meaning, connecting art and science. ## Program and Atmosphere of the Celebration The festival will traditionally take place as a large family event outdoors. Guests can expect a rich program that includes not only an exhibition of sand sculptures but also entertainment activities. Special attention is given to the evening part: concerts are planned to continue late into the night, creating the atmosphere of a full-fledged summer festival. ...The twentieth festival emphasizes the enduring popularity of this event, which has long become a hallmark of Jelgava and one of the largest cultural events of its kind in the region.
