The US has handed over a new draft peace agreement to the Iranian authorities, reported on Thursday, May 21, by the Iranian agency Tasnim, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). According to Tasnim, Washington transmitted this document to representatives of the Islamic Republic through Pakistan, which is acting as a mediator between the conflicting parties. The day before, US President Donald Trump stated that Washington is ready to continue strikes against Iran if it does not accept the terms of the peace agreement. At the same time, he noted that he is willing to wait a few days "to get the right answers." ## ## Iran and the US exchanged lists of conditions to start negotiations At the beginning of the month, Iran sent the US its draft plan for a ceasefire and the start of peace negotiations, consisting of 14 points. Among them are guarantees of non-aggression, lifting the blockade of Iranian ports in the Strait of Hormuz, unfreezing assets, and withdrawing US troops from the Middle East. Trump called this plan unacceptable and put forward counter-demands: renunciation of reparations, unfreezing only 25% of assets, transferring 400 kilograms of enriched uranium to the US, and guaranteeing that only one nuclear facility would operate in Iran. ## ## Axios: Israeli authorities are skeptical about the idea of negotiations with Iran Earlier, Axios reported, citing sources, that Donald Trump also discussed the new attempt to reach a peace agreement with Tehran with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to the publication's sources, Netanyahu is skeptical about the idea of negotiations with Iran and insists on continuing the war.
