During these exercises, more than 200 military personnel and members of the Kaitseliit honed their skills in destroying enemy aircraft using Mistral and Piorun surface-to-air missile systems, ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns, CV9035 infantry fighting vehicles from the Scout Battalion, and Browning heavy machine guns. "In developing the scenario and setting the objectives for this year's shooting exercises, we drew on lessons learned from both our own experience and the war in Ukraine, paying special attention to practicing the entire chain of engagement in tactical air defense, as well as improving survivability," said the commander of the air defense battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Robert Raaste. "Spring Storm" is the largest exercise of the Estonian Defence Forces this year, during which the planning and execution of military operations are practiced, as well as improving cooperation between Estonian and allied units. The exercises involve regular military personnel, conscripts, reservists, Kaitseliit members, as well as military personnel from allied and partner countries.
