The climbers were transported to Anchorage, to the Medical Examiner’s Office, so that they could subsequently be transported to Latvia.
It took several days to evacuate the climbers, as weather conditions on the mountain dictated the timeline.
The leader of the mountaineering group, Valdis Puriņš, remains in Anchorage, where he continues to handle various formalities and visits the fourth climber, Mārtiņš Bilzēns, in the hospital.
