Экс-премьер Эвика Силиня

Although the current Saeima has less than 5 months left to 'live', and the parliamentarians will go on summer vacation starting June 19, the change of government will also lead to significant personnel reshuffles in the Saeima. Next week, former Prime Minister Evika Silina plans to restore her parliamentary mandate, and as reported this evening by the TV-3 program Nekā personīga, a new position is already being prepared for her. Silina will head the Saeima's Committee on European Affairs, replacing Edmunds Cepuritis from the opposition 'Progressives'. Former Minister of Finance Arvils Ašeradens will lead the Saeima's Committee on Economic Affairs. Ironically, he 'took over' this position from another former minister - of communications - Kaspars Briškens, whom Silina dismissed a year and a half ago. Former Minister of Justice Inese Lībiņa-Egnere will head the Committee on Human Rights. Another former minister - of climate and energy - Kaspars Melnis will lead the Committee on Public Audits.
