Precipitation is expected throughout most of Latvia during the day. According to meteorologists, in some areas the rain will be heavy, and by evening its intensity will significantly increase in the central part of the country. Thunderstorms are possible in certain regions. On the Kurzeme coast, the situation will be complicated by strong winds. Northerly and northwesterly winds will gust up to 20–24 meters per second, while other regions will experience weak to moderate westerly winds. Such weather may complicate road traffic, especially during the evening hours when the heaviest precipitation is expected. Visibility during the downpours may deteriorate significantly. In the capital, rain will begin in the afternoon. Initially, the precipitation will intensify periodically, and in the evening it is highly likely to turn into very heavy rain. Thunderstorms are also not excluded. The daytime air temperature will remain relatively low — from +14 to +19 degrees across the country. In Riga, +16 to +18 degrees is expected. Heavy precipitation and gusty winds may lead to local flooding of certain street sections and hinder movement. Those planning trips or outdoor activities should take into account the possible deterioration of weather conditions. According to meteorologists, the most challenging weather situation is expected in the afternoon and evening when the downpours will reach maximum intensity.
