An unusual funeral ceremony in Amsterdam went viral after a video was posted on social media. During the farewell to a couple who owned an adult club, a pole dancer performed in front of their coffins. To the tune of Queen's "The Show Must Go On," the artist performed a dance number next to photographs and the coffins of the deceased. The video, published this week, has already garnered over five million views. It turned out that the husband passed away in 1993, but after the recent death of his wife, the family decided to hold a joint farewell ceremony. The funeral organizer, Iede Hoorn, stated that he always tries to make each ceremony as personal as possible and reflective of the life of the departed. However, even he was surprised by the request from the couple's children. "When I cautiously asked if there was any way to reflect the life’s work of the parents during the ceremony, they were initially hesitant. But a few days later, they called back and said they wanted to invite a pole dancer," Hoorn said. According to him, most guests did not expect such a turn of events, although everyone was well aware of the family's history and the couple's line of work. "Visitors were surprised, but at the same time, they understood why this was happening. It was entirely in line with the people we were saying goodbye to," the organizer noted. After the video was posted, social media users actively discussed the unusual ceremony. Some called it an original way to honor the memory of the deceased, while others admitted they would also like such an unconventional farewell. There were also jokes related to Queen's song "The Show Must Go On." Although such an unusual funeral elicited mixed reactions, the ceremony organizer believes that the main thing is to fulfill the family's last wishes and make the farewell as the loved ones of the deceased wanted it to be. For this reason, he said, the ceremony turned out to be truly personal and memorable.
