Around 2 PM, power supply was disrupted for approximately 9,300 customers in the Rezekne, Preili, and Ludza regions. The damages to the power grid were caused by trees and branches falling on overhead lines, as well as lightning strikes. "Sadales tīkls" is monitoring meteorologists' forecasts and is operating in an intensified mode to promptly eliminate power supply interruptions. In most cases, the smart power grid allows for the immediate restoration of power supply to customers through adjacent power lines - even before the damages are repaired on-site. At the same time, it should be noted that the power supply situation may change, as damages occur depending on the path of the storms. There may be cases where shortly after a damage is repaired on one section of the power line, power supply interruptions for customers are caused by damages on another section of the same line. In situations with more complex and extensive damages, restoring power supply may take longer.
