The day before, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced personnel changes in the government, stating that the country is transitioning to a renewed political strategy. According to him, each key foreign policy direction will be overseen by a separate leader with extensive experience. Among the priorities, Zelensky mentioned relations with the United States, the development of a European missile defense project, advancing Ukraine's membership in the EU, interaction with neighboring countries, including Poland and Hungary, cooperation with Middle Eastern countries, China, and international organizations. The president also stated the need to strengthen work in frontline and border regions, accelerate preparations for winter, and reform state-owned companies. Zelensky thanked Svyrydenko for her work at the head of the government and proposed that she lead "a new significant direction in relations with a key partner." Additionally, he announced personnel changes in the leadership of law enforcement agencies. Svyrydenko has headed the Ukrainian government since July 17, 2025. Prior to her appointment as prime minister, she served as the First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine since November 2021, and previously was the Deputy Head of the President's Office, reports The Moscow Times.
