According to the publication, during a meeting of EU ambassadors, the Greek representative stated that the proposed ban on the transportation of Russian LNG to third countries could effectively destroy Dynagas's business. As a result, Athens has so far refused to support the new package of restrictions. As noted by the FT, citing sources, Greece's position has delayed the approval of the sanctions by at least a week, as unanimous support from all EU member states is required for their adoption. The 21st package also includes restrictions against additional Russian banks, cryptocurrency networks, defense industry enterprises, as well as a new mechanism for capping the price of Russian oil. Until a compromise is reached, EU countries have decided to temporarily maintain the existing price cap at $44.10 per barrel to continue negotiations and assess the consequences of the new measures.
