Russian military forces attacked the civilian vessel Golden Leo, which was flying the flag of Guinea-Bissau. This was reported by the Minister of Restoration, Community Development, Territories, and Infrastructure of Ukraine, Mykola Kalashnyk. According to him, eight people were rescued. Two of them were injured. The search and rescue operation is ongoing, so the data on the number of injured and missing may be updated. Earlier, the Ukrainian Navy stated that three cruise missiles were fired at the vessel. The owner of Golden Leo is a Turkish company. At the time of the attack, the cargo ship had already left the Ukrainian port after loading corn. There were 18 people on board: 17 citizens of Syria and India, as well as a Ukrainian pilot. The strike hit a civilian vessel engaged in commercial shipping. Such incidents pose a threat not only to the crews but also to the safety of navigation in the northwestern part of the Black Sea. Ukrainian authorities continue the search operation and are clarifying the circumstances of the incident. As of the time of publication, there was no official response from the Russian side.
