Корабль и вертолет армии США

The death of the soldier was reported by the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM). According to their information, the tragedy occurred in northern Iraq during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance left over from the destruction of an Iranian strike drone. Another American soldier sustained minor injuries and is undergoing treatment. No further details about the deceased have been disclosed pending the notification of relatives. This is the second incident over the weekend involving the deaths of American soldiers in the Middle East. The day before, the U.S. reported the deaths of two soldiers during an operation in Jordan. At that time, one soldier was also declared missing. Later, American military personnel discovered unidentified human remains at the scene. Their identification is currently underway; however, according to U.S. media citing an official representative, it is believed that they belong to the missing soldier. Thus, the officially confirmed number of U.S. military fatalities since the start of the current conflict with Iran has reached 17. If the found remains are identified as the missing soldier, this number may increase. Hostilities between the U.S. and Iran continue following another escalation of the conflict. According to Iranian authorities, at least 50 people have been killed as a result of recent American airstrikes, with more than 500 injured. Tehran traditionally publishes data mainly regarding casualties among the civilian population. The conflict, which flared up again in July after a spring ceasefire, continues to result in losses on both sides, and the number of casualties continues to rise.
