Martiņš Bilzens himself sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized in critical condition. The other expedition members — Purinš, Edgars Madžulis, and Guntis Svarinš — were evacuated from the mountain with the help of rescuers. Two of them were diagnosed with frostbite. According to the Latvian Embassy in the USA, on the night of June 4, Latvian time, the bodies of the three deceased climbers were transported down from Denali. Martiņš Bilzens's return to Latvia marked an important stage in his recovery after one of the most tragic climbing expeditions in the country's history. He will now undergo treatment and long-term rehabilitation under the supervision of Latvian medical professionals.
