## Works on November 11 Embankment As part of the project, a bike path separated from motor traffic and pedestrian flow will be built on November 11 Embankment, approximately 1.1 kilometers long, on the section between the Cable Bridge and the Railway Bridge. It will become part of the overall bike route from the Center to Kengarags, Rumbula, and Daugavgrīva, which is approximately 14 kilometers long from the Cable Bridge to Daugavgrīva. The project will be implemented in two phases. First, construction work will begin on the section from the Stone Bridge to the Railway Bridge, where more extensive construction work for the separated bike path is planned. Meanwhile, on the section from the Cable Bridge to the Stone Bridge, bicycle traffic will be organized using traffic management solutions and road markings. The project also includes significant improvements to pedestrian infrastructure. A new pedestrian crossing will be created at the Stone Bridge, providing more convenient access to the embankment promenade from Kalku Street. It is also planned to update the surface of the pedestrian promenade on the section of the embankment between the Stone and Railway Bridges, replacing the concrete paving with granite slabs. A total of 1,285,709 euros (including VAT) has been allocated from the Riga budget for the implementation of the project. Construction work is expected to be completed within four months from the start, ensuring prompt improvements to the infrastructure. ## ## Works on Gertrude Street As part of the project, the surface of the roadway and sidewalks will also be updated while preserving the historical appearance of Gertrude Street, and the street space will be improved. New benches will be installed, bike parking spaces will be created, and trees will be planted. Traffic safety will be enhanced by constructing raised pedestrian crossings at intersection areas. During the construction work, the utilities of Rīgas ūdens will also be brought into order. To expedite the work and minimize the period during which residents may experience certain inconveniences, some work is planned to be carried out at night. During the construction work, significant traffic restrictions and changes to traffic organization will be in effect, so drivers and pedestrians are urged to comply with the established road signs and indicators. Construction work is planned to be completed within four months. The total cost of the project is 1,243,373 euros including VAT, of which 251,630 euros is financed by Rīgas ūdens, and 991,743 euros by the Riga City Council. Funding for the implementation of the project is provided from the municipal investment program.
