IV летних Юношеских Олимпийских играх в Дакаре (Сенегал)

The funds are intended for 18 young Latvian athletes who are preparing to participate in the IV Summer Youth Olympic Games in Dakar (Senegal) in 2026. The financing is allocated under the targeted program "Preparation for Dakar-2026" and will be directed to the relevant sports federations of Latvia for the quality training of athletes. The Youth Olympic Games will take place in the capital of Senegal, Dakar, from October 31 to November 13 this year. This will be the first Olympic event of such scale to be held on the African continent. The approved amount of $30,000 is evenly distributed among all 18 athletes who have earned the right to compete in the Games in Dakar. The funds are transferred directly to the sports federations so they can ensure comprehensive training for the athletes – training camps, sports equipment, medical support, and other necessary resources up to the start of the competitions. **The following sports federations of Latvia will receive funding:** 1. Latvian Rowing Federation (Beach Sprint) – 1 athlete (approximately $1,666). 2. Latvian Basketball Union (3×3 Basketball) – 4 athletes (approximately $6,664). 3. Latvian Boxing Union – 1 athlete (approximately $1,666). 4. Latvian Sailing Federation – 1 athlete (approximately $1,666). 5. Latvian Swimming Federation – 2 athletes (approximately $3,332). 6. Latvian Cycling Federation – 1 athlete (approximately $1,666). 7. Latvian Wrestling Federation (Beach Wrestling) – 1 athlete (approximately $1,666). 8. Latvian Dance Sport Federation (Breaking) – 1 athlete (approximately $1,666). 9. Latvian Wushu Federation – 1 athlete (approximately $1,666). 10. Latvian Taekwondo Federation – 1 athlete (approximately $1,666). 11. Latvian Triathlon Federation – 1 athlete (approximately $1,666). 12. Latvian Athletics Union – 3 athletes (approximately $4,998). Young athletes from around the world will participate in the Games, who will not be 18 years old at the time of the competitions (maximum age – 17 years). The total number of participants will not exceed 2,700 athletes representing 206 national Olympic committees.
