The exhibition is conceived as a cultural dialogue between Latvia and Japan. Here, photography meets the aesthetics of the Japanese poetic form – haiku. "Haiku reveals a strong sense of unity between nature and man. The poetically captured moments of life contain a deep philosophical reflection on life. The central theme of the exhibition is our journey through the flow of time in the present moment, based on our own emotional experience, which in the tradition of haiku signifies the spiritual path of each person," says Silvia Danelsone, head of the Riga photo studio, about the message of the exhibition. The exhibition features 14 authors, employees of the Riga photo studio: Silvia Danelsone, Ineta Freimane, Sandra Eglite, Inese Grizane, Dace Bekere, Sigita Rushina, Liga Blome, Zaiga Steina, Laura Kalnina, Marite Melnika, Martins Line, Krisjanis Schmits, Eriks Biters, Eva E. Chudere. More than 60 photographs are presented at the exhibition, each accompanied by an associative haiku in Latvian and Japanese. "The awareness of the mysteries of nature, the flow of time, serene silence, and the diversity of images in our photographs invite viewers on an emotional journey of sensory experience, where each moment becomes a meditation. They intertwine the minimalism of Japanese haiku with the Latvian sense of light, nature, and mood." The exhibition is an invitation to pause, to stop the flow of time, and to allow photography to transform into silent poetry.
