Recently, the center's operations have repeatedly become a subject of public discussion. Recently, Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs, along with Health Minister Hosam Abu Meri, discussed the problem of ambulance queues that periodically form at the hospital's emergency department. One of the reasons for such situations is said to be the lack of medical personnel. Previously, staff at the center drew the hospital management's attention to the fact that a significant portion of the doctors are residents and interns, who can only work under the supervision of certified specialists. According to medical professionals, the shortage of experienced doctors and the high influx of patients hinder timely assistance and create additional pressure on the staff. Several years ago, employees of the Emergency Medicine Center sent a letter to the hospital management listing problems that, in their opinion, could pose a threat to patient safety. The document stated that many of these issues have long remained unresolved. The letter also mentioned complaints about Robert Furmanis's management style. Employees claimed that while serving as the deputy head of the center, he allowed rude treatment of colleagues. According to some medical professionals, the situation did not change after his appointment as head, and this became one of the reasons why some specialists did not want to work at the Emergency Medicine Center. These claims reflect the position of the employees as outlined in their appeals. The article does not provide a comment from Robert Furmanis regarding the allegations made against him.
