The hot weather that settled in Latvia at the beginning of the week will start to recede by Friday. According to meteorologists' forecasts, the air temperature will significantly drop and remain more comfortable over the weekend. On Thursday, summer heat will still persist. On the western coast of Kurzeme, the air will warm up to about +21 degrees, while in some areas of Latgale, thermometers may rise to +30. However, from Friday to Sunday, the maximum temperature across the country will only reach +19...+24 degrees. The night weather will also change. The warmest night will be Thursday night, when the temperature will not drop below +16...+20 degrees. After that, the nights will become progressively cooler, and by Sunday morning, some areas are expected to see only +7...+9 degrees. Such a drop will be particularly felt by residents planning outdoor activities or overnight trips. In the evenings and early mornings, it is advisable to expect cooler weather. In the coming days, there will be brief rain showers in places, and thunderstorms are possible. The highest probability of downpours is expected in the southeast of Latvia. On Friday, the westerly wind will also strengthen, with gusts possible in some areas. According to preliminary forecasts, at the beginning of next week, the temperature will rise again briefly, but then it will start to decrease once more. At the same time, a significant increase in precipitation is not expected — their volume will remain below the climatic norm.
