On Thursday, the weather in Latvia will remain summery hot, although brief rains are expected in some areas. The most unstable weather is forecasted for the south of the country, especially in the southeastern regions. Thunderstorms are possible there, which may be accompanied by heavy downpours and gusty winds. Daytime temperatures will range from +21 degrees on the western coast of Kurzeme to +30 degrees in Latgale. Due to the high temperatures, the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center has issued a yellow warning. It will be in effect from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM in the central and eastern parts of the country. In such weather, specialists recommend avoiding prolonged sun exposure during the hottest hours of the day, drinking more water, and not leaving children or pets in closed vehicles. The wind will be light, predominantly from the west and southwest. In Riga, daytime temperatures will rise to about +27 degrees. As cloud cover increases, brief rain is possible; however, prolonged precipitation is not expected. According to forecasters, the weather conditions in Latvia are currently determined by the southeastern periphery of a cyclone, and atmospheric pressure will be 1010–1013 hPa.
