From 14:00 to 18:30, musicians and performers will entertain in the squares and streets of Vecrīga. In various corners of the Old Town, one can hear jazz, Dixieland, classical music, and percussion, while the familiar urban landscape will be complemented by mimes, clowns, living sculptures, and representatives of the Japanese dance form Butoh. The organizers invite residents and guests of the capital to embark on a unique creative stroll through Old Riga, during which almost any square, street, or intersection can unexpectedly turn into an improvised stage. Special attention in the program is given to pantomime. This tradition has been preserved and developed in Latvia for over half a century by the ensemble "Rīgas pantomīma" (Riga Pantomime). Around 20 pantomime artists will showcase their skills. Alongside the participants of "Rīgas pantomīma," a special guest from Italy — clown-master Camilo — will perform before the audience. Another unusual part of the program will be the performance by the dancers of "Butō Lab." They will introduce the audience to the avant-garde Japanese dance form Butoh, which is expected to add an unusual and spectacular accent to the celebration. Living sculptures performed by artists from the traveling circus "Beztemata" will also appear on the streets of the Old Town. The program will conclude with a collective flash mob in the Town Hall Square. Musicians, dancers, and performers will unite in a single performance where music, movement, and street theater will become part of the overall festive event. The organizers emphasize that it is the historical atmosphere of Riga, an ancient Hanseatic city, that particularly suits the continuation of European traditions of street music and theater.
