Bulgaria received the right to host Eurovision 2027 after its representative Dara won the 2026 contest in Vienna. The singer took first place with the composition Bangaranga, ensuring her country the opportunity to host Europe’s main musical television show for the first time in history. Choosing the host city was not easy. One of the main contenders was Sofia — the largest city in the country with a developed transport and hotel infrastructure. However, in the end, preference was given to Burgas. One of the advantages of the Black Sea city is the ability to combine a large-scale musical event with the atmosphere of a seaside resort. Organizers hope that the unusual location for Eurovision will help create a recognizable image for the contest. The dates for the show have already been set. The first semi-final is scheduled for **May 11, 2027**, the second will take place on **May 13**, and the winner of Eurovision 2027 will be determined in the final on **May 15**. For Burgas, the contest will be a serious challenge. Although the city annually welcomes a large number of tourists, the main influx of vacationers occurs during the summer months. Now hotels, public transport, and other city services will have to prepare for the arrival of thousands of foreign guests as early as May. At the same time, the authorities expect to achieve significant economic benefits. Eurovision has the potential to attract numerous fans of the contest, journalists, and tourists to the region, and additionally present Bulgaria's Black Sea coast to an international audience. The center of events will be the modern "Arena Burgas," opened a few years ago. The technical capabilities of the complex allow for large concerts and television shows; however, the venue will need to be adapted to meet the numerous requirements of the Eurovision organizers. The choice of Burgas was somewhat unexpected: such large international events are usually awarded to capitals or major metropolises. In 2027, the organizers decided to change the usual picture — instead of a capital atmosphere, Eurovision viewers will be greeted by the Black Sea, the resort town of Burgas, and the contest stage almost by the shore.
