Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Madár also provided information about the bus accident, stating that twelve passengers have died. "12 people died and at least ten were seriously injured last night when a Polish bus veered off the road on the M3 motorway," the Prime Minister reported. Péter Madár expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. He also thanked everyone involved in the rescue operation. The fact of the disaster was confirmed by the Polish Foreign Minister, who stated that the Polish side is in constant contact with the Hungarian authorities, but the data still needs to be clarified. He confirmed that "police and firefighters were dispatched to the accident site in large numbers, and assistance from civilians was called in to move the damaged bus." According to him, in addition to the 12 fatalities, there were 47 other people on the bus, many of whom sustained serious injuries. "The driver of the bus involved in the accident has been detained," the minister added.
