On Thursday, unstable weather will persist over most of Latvia. Meteorologists forecast brief rain, with heavy downpours and thunderstorms in some areas. The cloudiest weather is expected in the eastern part of the country, where cloud cover will remain for most of the day. Winds will be light to moderate, coming from the south and southwest. In Kurzeme, winds will strengthen: gusts from the west and southwest may reach 12–15 meters per second. Despite the precipitation, the day will remain relatively warm. Air temperatures across the country will rise to +16...+21 degrees. Residents should keep in mind that during thunderstorms and heavy downpours, weather conditions can change rapidly, so it is advisable to check the forecast for their region before long trips. In Riga, brief rain is also expected, but by evening, cloud cover will begin to decrease. In the capital, the air will warm up to around +20 degrees, with winds remaining light to moderate. According to meteorologists, the current weather conditions in Latvia are influenced by an area of low atmospheric pressure. This is contributing to the formation of rain clouds and unstable weather. Preliminary forecasts indicate that no significant warming is expected in the coming days, although precipitation may decrease in the second half of next week.
