The press secretary of the city hall stated that Ferrara's request did not specify a date, a specific venue, or the connection of the event to his activities as a city councilor. The politician himself explained that the details have not yet been determined. In particular, he does not know how many people will participate in the party and when it might take place. According to Ferrara, about 50 people have already expressed interest in the event. He also stated that he intends to conduct a special training session for potential participants. "Group sex with a city councilor is perhaps the highest degree of civic engagement," Ferrara said. In the deputy's opinion, the central location of the city hall makes it a suitable place for such events. Ferrara also pointed out the absence of a direct ban on holding swinger parties in the city hall building. "Neither in the code of conduct nor in municipal regulations are there provisions that explicitly prohibit holding swinger parties in the city hall," he said. At the same time, the politician attempted to justify his initiative with economic considerations. According to him, turning Mannheim into a popular destination for swingers could bring millions of euros to the city treasury annually. This is why, Ferrara claims, his proposal is directly related to his work in municipal politics. If the city authorities reject his initiative, the deputy did not rule out legal action. As an alternative, he promised to hold the party privately.
