ĪRGA is a new cultural venue where traditional culture, crafts, Livonian heritage, modern technology and contemporary cultural experiences will come together, says the Rīga City Council.

‘ĪRGA’ means ‘beginning’ in the Livonian language, so the centre’s opening is intended not only as the inauguration of new premises, but also as a symbolic return to Rīga’s foundations – the skills of craftspeople, seasonal traditions, songs, dances and community spirit, according to the founders. ...
