The Latvian women's national volleyball team last played in the European Championship 29 years ago. Last week they lost to one of the favourites, Turkey, and on Sunday lost to Germany.
On Monday they will face another tough test against Poland.
The last two games are on August 26 against Slovenia and on August 27 against Hungary. Of the six participants in Group A, the four strongest teams will enter the elimination tournament.
