Kulbergs received the Order of Merit of the I degree. The official justification is in recognition of the significant support for Ukraine from Latvia. "I perceive this high state award of Ukraine as confirmation of the unwavering support for Ukraine from the Latvian people. This is an honor not just for me personally, but for all of Latvia and our people, who have stood by Ukraine since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion and continue to support it by donating funds, vehicles, various equipment, clothing, food, and other necessary goods," said Prime Minister Kulbergs. In addition to Kulbergs, Ukrainian state awards were also presented by Volodymyr Zelensky to the presidents of Estonia, Lithuania, Moldova, and Finland, the chairman of the European Council, as well as the prime ministers of the United Kingdom and Luxembourg. From August 23 to 24, Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs was on a working visit to Ukraine.
