The Latvian women's national volleyball team last played in the European Championship 29 years ago.
Last week they lost to one of the favourites, Turkey, and on Sunday lost to Germany. On Monday they lost to Poland, which means that their last two games in the tournament, on August 26 against Slovenia and on August 27 against Hungary are both must-win matches if they are to have any hope of progressing in the tournament.
