Water sample analysis indicates that microbiological parameters at Kipsala Beach in the Daugava River do not meet hygienic requirements, therefore swimming is currently prohibited at this beach and appropriate prohibitory signs will be installed. In Riga, there were extreme rains and a storm over the past weekend, which caused overload and overflow of stormwater drainage systems, leading to pollution entering the Daugava River. At the sea beaches, water tests are good, and swimming is permitted there. Results of tests from other swimming areas will be received in the coming days, so swimming is not recommended there for now.
