After logging into their profile on the e.csdd.lv portal, users can see individual information about whether their personal data has been obtained by hackers. If the breach affected a client, they will be shown the categories and specific data that ended up in the hands of the perpetrators. The information is displayed exactly as it was extracted during the cyberattack. CSDD explains that the attackers obtained unstructured and incomplete information from the payment receipt table. The management urges clients not to share this information publicly and not to post it on social media. Since the cyberattack affected a large number of CSDD clients, the stolen information could potentially be used for various types of fraud. Therefore, residents are advised to exercise particular caution and verify the information directly on e.csdd.lv, without clicking on links from emails or SMS. CSDD also recommends installing the DNS ugunsmūris app on smartphones, developed by CERT.LV. It helps block fraudulent calls and messages, as well as dangerous websites. eParaksts mobile users are advised to familiarize themselves with the security recommendations prepared by eParaksts. A separate section has been created on the official CSDD website, where up-to-date information about the cyberattack on the directorate's information system and recommendations for precautionary measures are collected. As previously reported, as a result of the cyberattack on CSDD in early August, personal data of 1.2 million people and information about approximately 200,000 legal entities were obtained. The breach affected information about payments made to the directorate over the past 18 years.
