Before this, the artist acted in films, but predominantly in supporting roles. Other projects featuring Tsurilo include "I Have Honor," "Scythian," the TV series "Bloody Lady" and "Bandit Petersburg," and "Devyataev." Yuri Tsurilo received his acting education in the 1970s at the Yaroslavl Theater School. He then worked in dramatic theaters in Nizhny Novgorod, Norilsk, and Novosibirsk, and from 1993 began performing at the Alexandrinsky Theater in St. Petersburg. The cause of death for the 79-year-old artist was an oncological disease.
