Public activist Zigurds Strikis does not hide his outrage on social media platform X: "When will the Latvian Society in Riga stop renting its premises for Russian events? A tour by a Russian theater troupe is scheduled for September 6 at the society's house." His indignation is shared by Riga City Council member Liana Langa, who knows the "recipe for Russification": "Do you know why this is possible? Because in our laws, Russification is not recognized as a crime, and the Russian language is considered as foreign as French and Japanese." The politician promises to adopt a Declaration to overcome the consequences of Russification.
