Previously, Strancally Castle belonged to the family of financier Michael Allen-Buckley. Zuckerberg's representative, Brian Baker, confirmed the change of ownership and stated that the family intends to take care of the historic building and preserve its heritage. According to him, Zuckerberg and his family plan to spend more time in Ireland. This country holds business significance for the entrepreneur: it is home to Meta's international headquarters. Strancally Castle itself could easily serve as a backdrop for a historical or gothic film. The three-story stone building rises above the Blackwater River, and the area of the surrounding land is about 440 acres — nearly 180 hectares. The castle itself has an area of approximately 16,000 square feet, or about 1,500 square meters. The ancient architecture, vast territory, and picturesque location make the estate one of the most remarkable private residences in the region. Thus, the Zuckerberg family has acquired not just a new property in Europe, but their own historic estate in a country that has played an important role in Meta's international business for many years.
