The first video was filmed on Wednesday during the peak of the sudden flooding. Its authenticity and location were confirmed by BBC Verify specialists. The footage shows powerful water flows and high waves crashing against a building, inside which people are trying to take shelter. The water surrounded the house on all sides.   Along with the current, debris from other buildings and vehicles are swept away. They collide with the house, yet somehow the building withstands the onslaught of the elements. In one of the frames, a partially submerged green house can be seen, with several people on its balcony. The second verified video shows the aftermath of the disaster. Despite the extensive destruction around, the green house remained almost intact. It is located about 45 kilometers from where the flooding began. After the water receded, the area was covered in mud and debris. A group of survivors gathered on the balcony of the surviving building. Another person climbed onto the roof and waved a red cloth — apparently trying to attract the attention of rescuers and call for help. The footage particularly illustrates the scale of destruction: while the surrounding buildings were severely damaged or washed away, one house became a kind of island of salvation for those trapped inside amidst the raging elements.
