The festive program on Antonijas Street will last almost all day. The organizers promise concerts, entertainment, a gastronomic program, and various themed events. The musical part will start at 1:00 PM and end at 10:00 PM. A small ensemble of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra will perform, jazz will be played, and in the evening, DJs will create the musical atmosphere. The program also includes a performance by musician Chris Noah. The festive day can begin with an open yoga class. It will take place at 12:00 PM in the courtyard of the Museum of Medicine. Additionally, several themed areas will be set up on the street. One of them will be a literary "living room," organized by the movement "Time to Read." Here, visitors will be able to exchange books and get acquainted with new releases of Latvian literature. The central feature of the celebration will be a nearly 60-meter table designed for communal dining and socializing. The official communal dinner will start at 6:00 PM. Food can be purchased from nearby cafes and restaurants, which will prepare offerings in various price categories. During the event, Antonijas Street will be made pedestrian. Vehicle traffic in the festive area will be blocked. Riga Mayor Viesturs Kleinbergs noted that such events align with the initiative for pedestrian streets launched this summer. According to him, it allows for freeing up more urban space for walking, meetings, and cultural events. The weekend pedestrian street project in Riga has been in effect since August and will last until September 20. The local government hopes that the Antonijas Street celebration can become a new city tradition.
