An ecumenical service will be conducted by Archbishop Rinalds Grants and leaders of Christian denominations. As reported, on August 26, a glacier collapse triggered a powerful mudflow that caused extensive destruction in Nepal and China. As a result of the natural disaster, more than 1,000 people died, and over 4,700 are missing. A large group of Latvian tourists, whose trip was organized by "Yantra.lv," was near the epicenter of the incident. A smaller number of Latvian tourists were in the disaster zone as part of a group from a local company, "Mighty Himalayan Trek." It is currently known that three residents of Latvia in the disaster area were not harmed, while 33 are considered missing.
