On Thursday, residents of Latvia will experience a sharp change in weather. After a warm day, the air temperature will drop, and the sky will be mostly overcast. According to meteorologists' forecasts, the air will warm up only to +12…+18 degrees both at night and during the day. Throughout the day, rain will fall at times. In the afternoon, starting from the western part of the country, the cloud cover will become less dense in places, and the sun will peek out for a short time. Thunderstorms with heavy rain are possible in some areas. At the same time, the wind will strengthen. In the western and central parts of Latvia, gusts of the south-west wind will reach 11–16 meters per second during the day, while on the southern coast of Kurzeme, they may reach up to 20 meters per second. This means that residents should be prepared not only for cooler weather but also for adverse conditions on the roads and coast. Caution should be exercised during strong gusts of wind, especially near trees and temporary structures. In Riga, periodic rain is also expected. Despite this, the sun will occasionally shine through. The air temperature in the capital will be +14…+17 degrees, and gusts of the south-west wind will strengthen to 14 meters per second during the day. Thus, Thursday will be noticeably cooler than the previous day and will bring typical September changeable weather with rain, wind, and brief clearings.
