The attack occurred late in the evening on September 9. According to the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar region, naval drones approached the coast of Sochi. As a result, explosions occurred, followed by a fire. Eight people were injured. Five were hospitalized, while three received medical assistance on-site. Damage was recorded on the Primorskaya Embankment. The beach infrastructure was affected, and part of the area was cordoned off after the incident. Reuters reports that it was able to verify the authenticity of a video recorded on the embankment: it shows an explosion and gunfire. However, the agency does not specify the affiliation of the attacking naval drones as an independently established fact. The Italian agency ANSA, citing Russian sources, refers to the drones as Ukrainian. No official confirmation from Ukraine was provided at the time of publication.
