As it is common to pay by card in everyday life, not everyone carries cash. Offline card payments mean that, in circumstances where the internet is unavailable, individuals who are customers of critical financial service providers can purchase goods totalling up to 200 euros per card from selected retailers of food, fuel and medicines.

Offline payments work with cards issued by four banks – Swedbank AS, AS SEB banka, AS Citadele banka and the Latvian branch of Luminor Bank AS.
