Saratov region has come under attack from Ukrainian drones for the second time in a week. According to Ukrainian and Russian sources, the main target once again was the Saratov oil refinery. Following the strike, a fire broke out on the premises of the facility. The governor of Saratov region, Roman Busargin, confirmed the attack, stating that a civilian infrastructure object was damaged. According to him, there are no casualties; however, he did not provide further details. The Saratov refinery, owned by Rosneft, had already been attacked on Tuesday night. At that time, the facility was forced to halt operations, and according to available information, the restoration of the damaged equipment may take several weeks. According to the independent publication Astra and the Ukrainian Telegram channel Exilenova+, during the current attack, a warehouse of the online retailer Ozon also caught fire. This information was later confirmed by the company itself. Ozon reported that employees were evacuated in a timely manner and no one was harmed. At the same time, the company announced a temporary suspension of order deliveries and acceptance of goods from sellers in Saratov and Saratov region. The attack affected not only Saratov. According to local residents, explosions were also heard during the night in the nearby city of Engels. Saratov region regularly becomes one of the targets for Ukrainian drones due to the oil refining facilities and other infrastructure located here. Repeated strikes on the same plant may complicate its recovery after previous damages.
