Let us remind you that currently, military service can be completed either in the National Armed Forces or in the Zemessardze, that is, in the structures of the Ministry of Defense. "The introduction of service in the State Border Guard would be a significant change in the development of border protection, which would strengthen border security and simultaneously provide young people with the opportunity to serve in the state defense, effectively engaging in the protection of the Latvian border. We hope that this issue will be submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers for consideration as soon as possible," the Minister of the Interior stated.
