A new complex under the working title **Green Planet: National Aquarium** will appear in Pavilion C of the Brněnské výstaviště exhibition center and on the adjacent territory. The project is being implemented by JVS Holding Group, which has signed an agreement with the city company Veletrhy Brno. According to current plans, construction work is set to begin in **2027**, and the oceanarium is expected to welcome its first visitors in the second half of **2028**. The complex will feature about **100 aquariums and water tanks**, with a total volume exceeding **4 million liters of water**. It is planned to house around **400 thousand animals of approximately 500 species**, including rare ones. Among the inhabitants will be sharks, rays, sea turtles, jellyfish, corals, sturgeons, and thousands of small fish from around the world. ### Sharks Right Above Your Head The main attraction of Green Planet will be an oceanic tank with a volume of **2.5 million liters**. A **55-meter** long underwater tunnel will run through it — visitors will be able to observe sharks and other marine animals around them and right above their heads. Another feature will be a huge viewing wall measuring **18 by 6.5 meters**. The project's creators expect it to be the largest such structure in Europe.  The CEO and founder of JVS Holding Group, Viliam Duriš, stated that the company intends to create a world-class project.  According to him, after its opening, Green Planet should rank among the top five aquarium complexes in Europe, and in some indicators, particularly in the number of animals, it could claim the first place. However, these are still the investor's forecasts — the complex has yet to be built. ### Expecting Half a Million Visitors Brno Mayor Markéta Vaňková hopes that the new attraction will draw tourists not only from the city and the South Moravian Region but also from neighboring countries. In the first year of the oceanarium's operation, around **500 thousand visitors** are expected. In the future, attendance may increase to about 650 thousand people per year. Preliminary ticket prices are planned to be set at around **350–380 crowns**. Green Planet is envisioned not only as a tourist attraction but also as an educational center. Programs dedicated to biology, zoology, ecology, and environmental protection are planned to be conducted here. Developers promise to pay special attention to the rational use of water. Recirculation systems will allow for its purification and treatment, and then it will be returned to the tanks. If the current schedule is maintained, Brno will receive a new attraction of European scale in the second half of 2028 — with hundreds of species of animals, sharks above visitors' heads, and millions of liters of water.
