According to insurers, the company, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, is organizing the delivery of found belongings and luggage of insured travelers from Nepal. ERGO will cover the costs of transporting the property, organized with the involvement of Latvian state institutions. The company will also reimburse expenses for relatives who decide to independently transport the found items, including to other countries. The insurance company urged relatives in such cases to individually contact the insurer and keep invoices, receipts, and other documents confirming transportation expenses. **ERGO insured 33 participants of the trip** ERGO continues to monitor the situation in Nepal and maintains communication with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Depending on the established circumstances, the company is ready to fulfill the obligations stipulated in the insurance policies. The group travel insurance policy from ERGO was issued for 33 participants of the trip to Nepal, who could have found themselves in the area of the natural disaster in August. Among the insured are 28 citizens of Latvia and five citizens of other states. Depending on the consequences of the incident, the insurance coverage provides for payment of medical assistance and treatment, transportation and repatriation expenses. If the death of the insured is confirmed, their relatives may receive the insurance compensation provided for in the policy. The Latvian Association of Insurers previously explained that coverage for the consequences of this disaster remains in effect even after the expiration of the policy. This is due to the fact that the insurance event itself—the flood in Nepal—occurred during the validity of the insurance. At the same time, a person's disappearance in itself is not considered an insured event. Therefore, further payments will depend on the established circumstances and consequences of the incident.
