It is noted that the containers are placed around tanks and technological installations. "Containers are stacked on top of each other in several tiers, forming a barrier between the equipment and the surrounding area," the report states. Experts noted that the wall can partially shield a tank or installation from debris and a drone flying at low altitude. At the same time, they emphasized that the open-top object remains vulnerable to aerial attacks. Experts suggested that the barriers may limit the spread of spilled petroleum products and flames to neighboring equipment, but "the effectiveness of the new container protection during attacks is still unknown." The report states that, simultaneously, anti-drone nets and metal frames continue to be erected around individual objects at Russian oil refineries. Such structures are designed to intercept a drone before it makes contact with the equipment or to reduce the consequences of a hit.
