In the center of Riga, for the 13th time, a procession and festival in honor of Father's Day will take place, organized by the Latvian Parents' Organization. The procession will begin at 12:00 at the Freedom Monument and will conclude in Vermanes Garden, where families can enjoy concerts, creative, sports, and educational activities until 16:00. This year's concert program will feature the humorous rock band Pirmais kurss, the alternative music group for children of all ages Bikigrupa, and the rock band Pienvedēja piedzīvojumi. Participants in the procession will gather at the Freedom Monument starting at 11:00. At the same time, a dedication ceremony for the soldiers of the State Defense Service of the National Armed Forces Headquarters Battalion will take place at Freedom Square. Performers will include Jānis Aishpurs, the Zemessardze dance ensemble Bramaņi, the Zemessardze choir Stars, the Zemessardze orchestra, and the mixed choir Lins. At 12:00, the traditional procession will commence, proceeding from the Freedom Monument along Brīvības Street to Vermanes Garden. Families with children, fathers, expectant parents, grandparents, groups of friends, work collectives, and all those wishing to celebrate Father's Day together are invited to join. Another festive program will take place at the cultural space M/darbnīca on A. Briana Street, 9. From 11:00 to 22:00, the society Kreatīvās attīstības telpa will host events dedicated to family leisure and the role of fathers in children's lives. The program includes a musical selection for Father's Day by DJ Eduards Švans, outdoor entertainment, Jazz for Kids improvisations with the Sebru family, and a jam session for fathers. At 17:00, the City Jazz Riga big band, led by Karlis Vanags, will perform, and at 18:00, the festive program will conclude with the band Pērkons.
