The Jelgava native competed in the German Championships on 12 September and completed 20 laps in six hours, 43 minutes and 21 seconds.
For more than three decades, the 100-kilometre record was held by the legendary Aleksandrs Prokopčuks, who in the 1990s made his mark in running circles as a triathlete.
He set the 100-kilometre record (6:50:36) in the French town of Ranjon at the age of 27.
