The incident occurred on September 15 on a flight from Mashhad to Kermanshah. According to Hassan Jafari, a representative of the airports in Khorasan Razavi province, the plane took off around 5:30 PM local time. Shortly after takeoff, a part of the tread detached from one of the landing gear tires. Jafari clarified that the tire itself did not burst. At the same time, the crew reported an engine problem and decided to return to Mashhad. According to Iranian media, the pilot declared an emergency. During the return, the plane vibrated heavily. Footage published from inside the cabin shows that part of the ceiling cladding detached and fell onto the passenger seats, exposing the internal structures. Overhead bins opened, and belongings fell into the aisle and onto the seats. Shouts from passengers can be heard in the recording. The Boeing landed safely in Mashhad. According to the Brazilian publication UOL, citing Iranian authorities and a representative of the airline, there were no injuries among passengers and crew. People were transferred to another flight to Kermanshah. The runway was temporarily closed for inspection and debris cleanup, after which operations resumed. This is already the second serious incident involving Sepehran Airlines planes in Mashhad in a short period. At the end of August, another Boeing 737 from this airline rolled off the runway after landing. Again, there were no injuries.
