"Minotaur" is a new film by Andrei Zvyagintsev about a Russian businessman in 2022, who simultaneously learns of his wife's infidelity and the need to compile mobilization lists of his company's employees. The suburban routine of logistics company manager Gleb (Dmitry Mazurov) is shattered when he notices his wife Galina (Iris Lebedeva) enthusiastically texting someone. Gleb begins to suspect her of infidelity and asks the head of security to investigate. At the same time, his firm receives a mobilization quota of fourteen people. Outside, it is autumn 2022. In the coming week, Gleb will have to make two decisions: prepare the appropriate list of employees and determine whether he will cross the threshold of Galina's lover's apartment or not. What does France have to do with this? Zvyagintsev shot his Russian-language drama in collaboration with the French company CG Cinéma of Charles Gillibert and MK Productions, which allowed him to participate in the competition on behalf of France. Now the film must go through not the French, but the general Oscar selection. In December, the Academy will form a shortlist of 15 international films, and on January 21, 2027, it will announce five nominees. The 99th awards ceremony will take place on March 14, 2027.
